Canberra Airport is located approximately 8km from the city centre and a taxi will cost approximately A$25.00 between the airport and the city centre and also from the airport to the Conference Venue.
Alternatively The Airport Express shuttle bus offers airport to Canberra CBD services daily during peak periods. Cost is just $12 one way and $20 return. The Airport Shuttle stops at Blamey Square, National Convention Centre, YHA and West Row Civic. Tickets can be purchased from the car park customer service office located opposite the bus stop or can be pre-booked at www.royalecoach.com.au or by calling 1300 368 897.
Taxis in Canberra operate under 2 pricing structures for hiring a cab.
From 0600 to 2100 hours on a day other than Saturday, Sunday or public holiday the rate is A$2.00/Kilometre.
From 2100 to 0600 hours on a Monday to Friday and all day Saturday, Sunday or public holiday the rate is A$2.30/Kilometre.
The flagfall is A$5.00.
You can monitor the drive by checking the taxi meter, which should be displayed at the front of the taxi. Please check the meter is set correctly when you begin your journey.
Note: Flagfall and fare rates are higher for taxis that can carry 5 or more passengers. Also for journeys commencing at the Canberra airport there is a A$3.00 toll fee.
Canberra’s ACTION Buses service major tourist sites and their regular service routes link the city to the outer suburbs. The ACTION Buses include easy access buses for people with reduced mobility. Bus fares use the MyWay smartcard prepaid ticketing system or cash.
For MyWay, scan the card when you get on and off the bus. These cards can be purchased online, from Canberra Connect Shopfronts and MyWay Recharge Agents. For more information on MyWay cards, please visit www.action.act.gov.au/MyWay.
For cash fares, you can buy a single or a daily cash ticket on board the bus from the driver. The daily tickets are ideal for sightseeing and are valid until midnight on the day of purchase. Climate and Clothing
April is the middle of Autumn in Canberra and the average temperature in this season ranges from 7-20ºC (45-68º F). The days are generally mild followed by cool nights.
Please refer to the information on the social program for dress at social functions organised as part of the Conference, as some of these may require formal evening dress.
Bistros, restaurants, cafes and coffee shops offer varied menus, prices and decor.
Goods and services tax (GST)
All prices quoted on this website are inclusive of 10% GST (Goods & Services Tax), unless otherwise specified. GST applies to most goods and services in Australia.
Registration fees do not include insurance of any kind. It is strongly recommended that at the time you register for the conference and book your travel you take out an insurance policy of your choice. The policy should include
- loss of fees/deposit through cancellation of your participation in the Conference, or through cancellation of the Conference,
- loss of international/domestic air fares through cancellation for any reason,
- loss of tour monies through cancellation for any reason including airline or related services strikes within Australia,
- failure to utilise tours or pre booked arrangements due to airline delay,
- Force Majeure or any other reason,
- medical expenses (including sickness and accident cover),
- loss or damage to personal property,
- additional expenses and repatriation should travel arrangements have to be altered.
The Conference managers cannot take any responsibility for any participant failing to arrange their own insurance. This insurance is to be purchased in your country of origin.
The official language for the Conference is English.
The National Convention Centre has undercover car parking for 480 cars. The car park offers access 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The entrance to the car park is located on Constitution Avenue, between the National Convention Centre and Airservices Australia building. Take the driveway with the 24 HR car parking sign, go down the ramp and turn right into the car park.
For casual parking the boom gate machine at the entrance of the car park will dispense a ticket for you to retrieve. Please pay for your ticket before you exit the car park at either of the pay stations on level 1 or at Reception.
Please note: The car park pay stations accept cash payments only. For all credit card payments please pay at Reception during business hours (Monday-Friday 0800 to 1800).

The Conference Hosts and Conference Managers have arranged for photography onsite throughout the conference. The images may be used for post-conference reports, case studies, marketing collateral and supplied to industry media if requested. If you do not wish for your photo to be taken, please inform an Arinex staff member at the registration desk onsite.
Australia introduced the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2012 in March 2014. The Conference Managers comply with such legislation which is designed to protect the right of the individual to privacy of their information. Information collected in respect of proposed participation in any aspect of the Conference will be only used for the purposes of planning and conduct of the Conference and may also be provided to the organising body or to organisers of future events.

It is also usual to produce a ‘Delegate List’ of attendees at the Conference and to include the individual’s details in such a list. Consent for publication of the individual’s information may be withheld when completing the Registration Form for the Conference. Individuals are also entitled to access the information held by written application to the Conference Managers.
Canberra shops open from 0900 to 1730 hours during the week with late night shopping on Friday until 2100 hours. On Saturday, most city shops open from 0900 to 1700 hours and on Sunday, they are open from 1000 to 1600 hours.
Canberra is 10 hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time.
